Gabrielle completed the SEATTLE SKYLINE #5 in October 2018. The contemporary fiber artist upcycled textiles and papers to create the latest in her series of skylines of Seattle. She tries to celebrate the city’s rich colorful history, heritage and texture of this vibrant city. She draws and sews by hand iconic images like Pike Place Market, Washington State Ferry, cruise ship, Mt Rainier, Sculpture Park, Seattle Space Needle, ferris wheel, MoPop and Elliot Bay.She layers various textiles to depict the sky, city, and waters of Elliot Bay and then attaches them by hand and machine sewing. She has created the facades of buildings in Seattle and added many different kinds of boats, crab pots, fish, crabs and the PNW’s much beloved Orcas. Gabrielle has managed to create her fiber art despite having Rheumatoid Arthritis in her hands and wrists.

ThIs textile collage was exhibited in a November 2018-January 2019 fiber art show at Imogen Gallery in Astoria, Oregon.
